U.S. Customs Update: De Minimis Duty-Free Threshold to End on Aug 29, 2025
Category NOTIFICATION
Date 2025-08-12

Hello, this is the Paysable Support Team.

Due to changes in U.S. customs regulations, starting August 29, 2025, the De Minimis (duty-free) threshold will be eliminated for all shipments to the United States.

Key Changes

- De Minimis (duty-free) will no longer apply.

- All imported goods will be subject to customs duties regardless of value or country of origin, and Informal/Formal customs clearance will be required.

(This includes shipments previously exempt from duties under the $800 threshold.)

Exceptions

- Gifts valued under USD 100 sent from an individual overseas to an individual in the United States will remain duty-free.

(For shipments to the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, and American Samoa, gifts under USD 200 are exempt.)

Additional Information

This change will take effect on August 29, 2025 and is separate from the full De Minimis elimination scheduled for July 1, 2027 under the One Big Beautiful Act.

Please make sure to review these changes before shipping to the United States and prepare in advance for any applicable customs duties and clearance procedures.

Thank you.
